אַפְקַרְסִין, אַפִּיקַרְסִין, אַפִּיקְרִיסִין, אִיפְ׳f. pl. (also used as sing. a. m.) ( פקר, with format. ס; v. אפיקורוס; cmp. אַבְרְקִין, פַּקְרְסִין, סַבְרִיקִין, סְפַרְקִין, a. אוּנְקְלַי II) undress, ( negligee), whence underwear, the garment next to the skin, shirt, bathing or night gown, sheet. Y.Ber.II, 4c top אפיק׳ היהוכ׳ he had an undergarment on beneath; cmp. Pesik. R. s. 22.Pesik. Shek. p. 15b> sq. אפיקריסין (sing. a. pl.); Lev. The derivatives of our w. and those of the plain root פקר interchange frequently. Snh.X (XI), 1, the following have no share in the world to come … וא׳ and the Ep.; Y. ib. XI, 27d bot. כהן דאמר אהן ספראוכ׳ as the one who (speaking of the Law) says (sneeringly) ‘That book, or ‘Those Rabbis. Bab. ib. 99b (similar definition). Ab.
