"Entre ’diction’ et ’dictionnairique’ se trouve, bien calé, un mot qui m’a longtemps fascinée et qui continue, encore aujourd’hui, à m’envoûter: dictionnaire. Ce recueil d’unités signifiantes de la langue a toujours été pour moi un objet d’évasion. Et, chose étrange, le rituel de mes escapades est souvent le même. J’ai un doute sur un mot, une locution, un adverbe... et je préfère en vérifier le sens exact. Je me saisis alors de mon dictionnaire, je l’ouvre et là... invariablement, je tombe (par pur hasard) sur un mot que mes yeux ont capté au beau milieu de la page 849. Il n’a aucun rapport avec mon mot du départ mais il stoppe ma recherche. Il aiguise ma curiosité et m’entraîne, bien malgré moi, dans des découvertes, des aventures textuelles. Je me laisse alors dériver au gré des mots, des termes, des éléments et des sens. J’explore, je fouille, je mémorise. Puis, soudain, me souvenant de ma recherche initiale, je trouve enfin le mot du début."
