Grabovius, surname of Iupiter; the word is found in ModGr. γράβος (Epirus), γάβρος (Arcadia). Further to Russ. grab etc., and OPr. wosi-grabis. S. Vasmer Russ. et. Wb. s. v., Georgakas ByzZ 41, 361f., Porzig Gliederung 148. Rejected by Garbini, Studi Pisani I 391ff. Also Restelli, Studi Pisani II 820.
