18 jarro
Glossed by Watts as a term used in Mexico and the Southwest for "an earthen pot." The DRAE references it as a clay, earthenware, glass, or metal vessel made in the shape of a jug or pitcher with a single handle. These jugs or pots might be used to transport drinking water, to heat water for coffee, or even to cook beans on the trail. They were also used by the Indians and Mexicans in the Southwest and most likely made their way into kitchens on the haciendas or ranchos. -
