Sabb.55b אפשר … והכתוב מְיַחֲסוֹ is it possible that he was a sinner and the Scripture would state his genealogy?; a. fr. 2) to nobilize, distinguish, invest with prerogatives. Num. R. s. 13 יִיחֲסוֹ הכתוב על שם שבטו the Scripture distinguished him (giving him the privilege of the first offering) for the sake of his tribe (Num. 7:12). Gen.
