Это словосочетание встречается в романе британской писательницы Стеллы Гиббонс под названием 'Cold Comfort Farm'. Этот роман — пародия на деревенскую литературу 1930-х гг. Одна из его героинь, не вдаваясь в подробности, постоянно говорит о каком-то ужасе в дровяном сарае, который сделал невыносимой её жизнь.
