La paume de la main tendue évoque l'idée de l'action d 'offrir, présenter', ce qui pourrait être le sens primitif du verbe 'palêhuia'. Peut-être aussi l'usage du mot espagnol 'favorecer' qui s'emploie poliment pour 'donner' influença la locution aztèque. SGA II 690-6;31.
