Он становится жертвой розыгрыша Неда Шарпа, который на всю жизнь станет его злейшим врагом. Кастер получает худшие оценки на своем курсе, однако проявляет блестящие познания во всех воинских премудростях, и никто лучше его не умеет поднять боевой дух подчиненных.    В 1861 г. Кастер принимает участие в битве у реки Булл-Ран. Он отказывается подчиняться Неду Шарпу своему командиру, сбивает его с ног и вместо отступления переходит в атаку. За этот подвиг Шеридан награждает его отпуском и медалью. В родном городе Монро, штат Мичиган, Кастер вновь встречает Элизабет Бейкон, в которую влюбился с первого взгляда в Уэст-Пойнте, и просит ее выйти за него замуж, когда он станет генералом. Однако его продвижение по службе оказывается стремительнее самых смелых мечтаний, и вот он уже в генеральском чине, во главе Мичиганской бригады (правда, поначалу он принимает это назначение за хорошую шутку). Под Хэнновером он вновь не желает подчиняться приказу и атакует войска Джеба Стюарта силами 7-го мичиганского полка. Атака отбита. Он вновь идет на приступ с 5-м и 6-м полками; новая неудача. Бросив в атаку 1-й полк, он все-таки обращает Стюарта в бегство и таким образом приносит северянам победу при Геттисбёрге.

   По возвращении его приветствуют как героя, и он женится на Элизабет. Нед Шарп и его отец Уильям Шарп хотят помириться с ним и просят стать президентом их железнодорожной компании. Так они надеются сыграть на его прославленном имени и повысить продажи акций. Кастер отказывается. Война окончена, и бездействие давит ему на нервы. Накануне последней битвы Кастер вынуждает Шарпа распить с ним бутылку на двоих. Кастер поднимает тост за славу, а Шарп – за деньги. Когда последний напивается мертвецки, Кастер отвозит его на поле сражения. Затем прощается с женой и читает в ее дневнике, что она предчувствует беду. В битве при Литтл-Бигхорн (25 июня 1876 г.) бойцы доблестного 7-го кавалерийского полка бьются против вдесятеро большего числа врагов, попадают в засаду и гибнут все до единого. Нед Шарп, которому ничего не остается, как сражаться, умирает с оружием в руках, а вскоре после него и Кастер получает смертельную рану. Его самоотверженность позволила пехоте генерала Терри продержаться до подхода генерала Шеридана. После смерти Кастера его жена использует письмо покойного генерала, чтобы лишить Тэйпа должности и окончательно вернуть территорию Черных Холмов индейцам племени сиу.

Флинн немного устал от режиссерской диктатуры Кёртиза, с которым проработал на 12-и фильмах за 6 лет, и эта усталость, к счастью для истории кино, позволила Уолшу исследовать в актере новые способности к перевоплощению и, в целом цикле великолепных фильмов, раскрыть новые грани его личности, то трогательные, то ироничные и циничные. Отстраняясь от исторических фактов, оставив в стороне двусмысленную и спорную фигуру реального Кастера, Уолш с Флинном создают нарочито мифический образ, несущий в себе культ героизма и тех ценностей, что сам персонаж ценит превыше всего. Кастер предстает здесь человеком, который зрит в корень, говорит начистоту, ненавидит компромиссы и осознанно идет на самопожертвование ради блага и своей страны, и индейцев.

   Сквозь перипетии биографической фрески, чье действие растягивается на 20 лет, Уолш видит в своем персонаже возможность высказать всю ненависть к грязной политике, мошенничеству и диктатуре денег. Конечно, Флинн играет цельный характер: однако ценности, которые он защищает, и презрение, которое он чувствует к Шарпам, Тэйпу и прочим жалким людишкам, плохо уживаются в нем и в конце концов толкают его на путь к самопожертвованию и трагедии. Фильм – особенно в последней части – содержит несколько лучших сцен во всем творчестве Уолша. Managers of installations, fully aware of the professional and legal liabilities weighing on their company and on themselves, demand a high level of safety for the electrical installation.

LV switchgear assemblies are undoubtedly the components of the electric installation more subject to the direct intervention of personnel (operations, maintenance, etc.) and for this reason users demand from them higher and higher safety requirements.

The compliance of an assembly with the state of the art and therefore, presumptively, with the relevant technical Standard, cannot be based only on the fact that the components which constitute it comply with the state of the art and therefore, at least presumptively, with the relevant technical standards.

In other words, the whole assembly must be designed, built and tested in compliance with the state of the art.

Since the assemblies under consideration are low voltage equipment, their rated voltage shall not exceed 1000 Va.c. or 1500 Vd.c. As regards currents, neither upper nor lower limits are provided in the application field of this Standard.

The Standard IEC 60439-1 states the construction, safety and maintenance requirements for low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies, without dealing with the functional aspects which remain a competence of the designer of the plant for which the assembly is intended.

The compliance of an assembly with the state of the art and therefore, presumptively, with the relevant technical Standard, cannot be based only on the fact that the components which constitute it comply with the state of the art and therefore, at least presumptively, with the relevant technical standards.

In other words, the whole assembly must be designed, built and tested in compliance with the state of the art.

Since the assemblies under consideration are low voltage equipment, their rated voltage shall not exceed 1000 Va.c. or 1500 Vd.c. As regards currents, neither upper nor lower limits are provided in the application field of this Standard.

The result of the cumulative activities of farmers, households, and industries, all trying to improve their socio-economic well being. These activities tend to be counterproductive for several reasons. People may not completely understand the long-term consequences of their activities on the natural resource base. The most important ways in which human activity is interfering with the global ecosystem are: a) fossil fuel burning which may double the atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration by the middle of the next century, as well as further increasing the emissions of sulphur and nitrogen very significantly; b) expanding agriculture and forestry and the associated use of fertilizers (nitrogen and phosphorous) are significantly altering the natural circulation of these nutrients; c) increased exploitation of the freshwater system both for irrigation in agriculture and industry and for waste disposal.
