R. s. 3 ויבדלה׳ ממש vayyabdel (Gen. 1:4) means real separation (in space, not logical differentiation). Ḥag. 15a ה׳ … דהואי the separation (of the waters) took place on the second day. 3) Habdalah, a formula of prayer for the exit of the Sabbath or Festivals, v. אַבְדָּלָה.
