En mai 2003, l’Acrobat Reader est remplacé par l’Adobe Reader, qui permet de lire aussi des livres numériques sécurisés. Fin 2003, Adobe ouvre son Digital Media Store, avec des titres au format PDF de grands éditeurs (HarperCollins Publishers, Random House, Simon & Schuster, etc.) et des versions électroniques de journaux et magazines (The New York Times, Popular Science, etc.). Adobe lance aussi Adobe eBooks Central, un service permettant de lire, publier, vendre et prêter des livres numériques, et l’Adobe eBook Library, qui se veut un exemple de bibliothèque de livres numériques. Très complet, le site Planet PDF permet de suivre l’actualité du PDF. Adobe est également connu pour son logiciel d’animation Flash et pour son logiciel de traitement d’images Photoshop. -
