(G. Obtusifolium) - A variety of tree cotton, grown in Mysore and the Madras Presidency, India. It has a staple of 3/8-in. to 7/8-in. and grows on light soil. It is a perennial similar to Ladam and Rozi, and has a lint yield of 23 per cent. The quantity is very small. -

A commercial variety of Indian cotton known in the Tamil districts of the Bombay Presidency. It has a fine fibre of reddish colour; grown in red or gravelly soils. Also called Nadam. -

The old trade term for the cotton grown in Coimbatore, Trichinopoly, and South Arcot including Uppan, Nadam and Bourbon. The important cotton of these districts is now Cambodia. Spins 20's or higher counts.
