1 Straight Line Test
A term used to denote that the " straight line die " had been used to cut the sample for testing from the fabric. This die is principally employed for carpet fabrics. It measures 2.4-in. X 1.8-in. and after cutting, the whole of the threads in both warp and weft are totalled together, weighed and the counts obtained.Dictionary of the English textile terms > Straight Line Test

Yarn that is reeled with a slow traverse. A quick-moving traverse motion gives cross-reeled yarn. -
