1910-1994Checo de nacimiento, estudiante de Arquitectura en Viena, fue ayudante del mitico Max Reinhardt. Llego a Hollywood en 1940, trabajando como director artistico y disenador de produccion, asociado a William Cameron Menzies. Como disenador de produccion consigue el Oscar en dos ocasiones, con La heredera (The Heiress, William Wyler, 1949), y El buscavidas (The Hustler, Robert Rossen, 1961). En los anos 50, Horner aborda esporadicamente la direccion de cine y de television. 8 Lamont, Charles
1895-1993Nacido en San Petersburgo, dirige multitud de comedias de una y dos bobinas en los anos 20 y comienzos de los 30. Su primer largometraje no lo realiza hasta 1934. En 1940 pasa de Columbia a Universal, donde permanece 16 anos dirigiendo comedias, hasta su retirada. Trabajo extensamente con la pareja comica Bud Abbott & Lou Costello. En el mundo del western sera recordado por sus dos peliculas con Yvonne De Carlo. Salome la embrujadora es un delicioso melodrama kitsch, y La dama de la frontera, un western con clara influencia de la “screwball comedy”.
