Nota d'usoQuando ci si congeda da qualcuno la forma più neutra di saluto è goodbye, traducibile a seconda dei contesti con arrivederci, ciao, buongiorno (o buonasera), addio.Le più diffuse formule di commiato colloquiali sono:see you e see you around, ci vediamo, arrivederci, ciao; see you può essere seguito da un avverbio o da un complemento di tempo o di luogo: See you later, ci vediamo dopo, a più tardi, arrivederci a dopo; See you tomorrow morning, ci vediamo domattina;so long, ciao, arrivederci (detto soprattutto quando si prevede di non vedere per un certo tempo la persona che si saluta);Un commiato formale o antiquato è farewell, addio!Infine, quando ci si congeda al termine di una serata o prima di andare a letto, si può dire (in tutti i registri, colloquiale, neutro e formale) good night, buona notte.
