27 Hamilton, Alexander
В 1789 стал министром финансов [ Secretary of the Treasury] в первом американском правительстве. Инициатор создания центрального Банка Соединенных Штатов [ First Bank of the United States], автор введения протекционистских тарифов. English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Hamilton, Alexander

28 Washington, George
English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Washington, George

32 Washington, George
После его смерти в 1799 Конгресс, отмечая его заслуги, назвал его «первым в войне, первым в мирное время, первым в сердцах соотечественников» [*‘First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen’].
