22 REVALUATION OF CURRENCY
(ревальвация валюты) Повышение стоимости валюты относительно золота или других валют. Ревальвация обычно проводится государством, которое в течение продолжительного времени имеет положительное сальдо платежного баланса. Результатом ревальвации является удешевление импорта при одновременном удорожании экспорта и, следовательно, падение конкурентоспособности страны на внешних рынках. По этой причине ревальвация не пользуется популярностью у государства.
