Применительно к аргентинскому варианту системы свопов используется выражение pase financiero. Суть ее заключается в том, что частным лицам или организациям гарантируется право обратного обмена инвестированных ими средств на заранее установленных условиях в форме выдаваемой обменной гарантии. Правительство Франции рекомендует использовать термин crédit croisé, но сравнительно безуспешно.
