A term that has lately been given to ordinary bed ticking when printed designs have been added. Widths about 56-in., 64-in., and 72-in. The satin weave is mostly used with a warp face, such as 72-in., 84-ends, 52 picks, 22's / 14's. The ordinary ticking is usually woven with a warp yam heavier than the weft. -

A linen cloth used as tabling and woven in small squares. Also in wide widths used as bed ticking. -
10 Oriental Laces
In the historical sense, the lace products of the East, including China, India, Japan, Persia and Turkey, which are remarkable for the labour expended on them, their great cost and the originality and boldness of the idea and colouring that characterise them. In another sense. Oriental laces are both machine-made and hand-made laces in which the design is woven through and through the net and thus becomes very firm. They are made in many designs and widths and are much used on dresses, curtains, bed sets, etc.
