En août 2004, une collaboration s’engage avec eBay, premier site de commerce électronique mondial, après le rachat par celle-ci de 25% des parts de Craigslist. En 2004, Craigslist compte en moyenne cinq millions de visiteurs et un milliard de pages consultées par mois. En 2005, ces chiffres ont doublé. En juillet 2005, il existe 175 “antennes” de Craigslist dans les 50 Etats des Etats-Unis et dans 34 pays.
