Les noms de mois et les noms de jours prennent toujours une majuscule en anglais; pour les abréviations des noms de mois et de jours fréquemment utilisées en anglais ⇒ Les mois de l'année et ⇒ Les jours de la semaine.En anglais parlé, on utilise presque toujours le nombre ordinal (par ex. fifth et non five) pour indiquer le jour du mois; pour les abréviations des nombres ordinaux ⇒ Les nombres.En anglais, il y a quatre façons d’écrire la date, et trois façons de la dire: ces options sont toutes indiquées pour la première date du tableau suivant.
