{"Bourn" – "ручей" (см. сноску к статье Snowbourn).} "Up-" используется в английских названиях прибрежных деревень, расположенных в верховьях названной реки, (как Upavon в Уилтшире), особенно в противоположность большим поселениям, находящимся близ устьев, аналогично тому, как Upwey – поселение, расположенное выше Weymouth. Эта деревня располагалась по течению реки Snowbourn выше, чем Edoras, но ниже, чем Underharrow. Поскольку это название дано в модернизированной английской форме, его можно перевести, если это будет не слишком трудно, или сохранить его правильную форму на языке Рохана – Upburnan.
