Baḥod., p. 107b> (ref. to Ps. 68:18 רבותים אלפי ש׳) ירד … בעשרים ושנים אלףוכ׳ the Lord came down on Sinai with twenty and two thousand classes of ministering angels; ib. 108a> (= שנון) וכולן ירדו שנונין לכלותוכ׳ and all of them came down (with) sharpened (swords), ready to consume Israels enemies (euphem. for Israel) ; ib. (as if from נאה) הנאין … שבהם the most beautiful and worthy of them; ib. (= שאנן) אעפ״כ היה להם ריוח in spite of their large numbers they had room; Pesik. R. s. 21; Yalk. Ex. 286; Yalk. Ps. 796.
