    רְפוּאָהf. (b. h. רְפֻאוֹת; רָפָא) 1) healing, cure; medicine, remedy. R. Hash. 17b (ref. to Is. 6:10) איזהו דבר שצריךר׳וכ׳ what is that which needs to be remedied? It is a divine decree (which may be averted by mans repentance). Meg.13b (ref. to Esth. 3:1) אחר …ר׳ למכה after the Lord had prepared the remedy for the wound (the means of delivery from the affliction). Ib. איןהקב״ה ר׳ תחילה the Lord does not strike Israel, unless he has prepared the remedy in advance. Sabb.VI, 10 משוםר׳ as a medicinal amulet. Ib. 67a כל דבר שיש בו משוםר׳ whatever is done for medicinal purposes. Ib. מאיר׳ קעביד what remedy can he effect by it?
