(ed. שְׁבִישָׁא) we have heard that you allow your tenant no share in the vines (when they are cut). Y.Peah I, 15d הוה נסיב שיבשתיהוכ׳ (read: שְׁבִישְׁתָּא or שְׁבִישָׁתָה pl.) used to take a branch (branches) and dance in front of bridal processions; ib. דקמת ליה שְׁבִישְׁתֵּיה the merit of his (carrying the) twigs (or of his folly, v. שוֹטִיתָא) stood by him (at his funeral, when lightning in the shape of a twig came down, v. שִׁבְשָׁא a. שַׁבְשָׁבָה); Y.Ab. Zar. III, 42c top נסיב שוֹשִׁיבְתָּה (or שוֹשִׁיבָתָה pl.); ib. דעבדת ליה שושבתא, read: דעמדת ליה שוֹשַׁבְתֵּיה; Gen. R. s. 59 דקמת ליה שַׁבֶּשְׁתֵּיה.Pl. שְׁבִישָׁתָא, שְׁבִשָׁ׳. Koh.
