    טָרַד(b. h.; cmp. טרי) (to move, shake, 1) to be running, to drip. Nidd.49b היה טוֹרֵדוכ׳ if the liquid drips drop after drop. Bekh.44a (עיניו) טוֹרְדוֹת running eyes (more than דלף); (Ar.: restless, constantly twinkling; oth. opin.: shutting with great trouble, v. infra). 2) (of waves) to carry. R. s. 11 (read:) כאדם שאומר לחבירו לא יטול פלוני ק׳ זו … עליו like a man saying to his neighbor, that man will not undergo that sentence, for such and such stands by him as his patron. Ib. s. 30 (read:) נתן ק׳ לקומיס he passed sentence on the Comes; נתן ק׳ לאברהם he sentenced Abraham (thy seed shall be strangers, Gen. 15:13). Lev. R. s. 18, end בו׳׳ד גובה ק׳וכ׳ (not קטירקי) a human being (king) collects a fine, and so does the Lord (ref. to Deut. 22:19); Num. R. s. 7 יש לו קטריקס (corr. acc.). Deut. R. s. 3 בניך חוטאין ואתה נותן עלי ק׳ thy children sinned, and me thou punishest? Ib. לתת עליך ק׳ אתהוכ׳ (I want) to fine thee; thou hast broken them (the tablets) and thou must replace them. Koh. R. to V, 12 היא ק׳ דיריה … ק׳ דמלכותוכ׳ it (his wealth) is his punishment; when a verdict from the government comes out against him, he will give whatever he has (to be released). Pesik.
