טיבור

טִיבּוּר, טִבּוּר(b. h. טַבּוּר; טבר cmp. טַבְלָא I) (rounded, arched, navel, umbilicus. Sabb.XVIII, 3 (128b) את הט׳ the infants navel string. Nidd.13b על טִבּוּרוֹ (Ar. טיב׳) above his navel. Yoma 85a מטיבורו the formation of the embryo begins from the navel. Midr. Till. to Ps. 19; a. fr.Trnsf. centre or highest part. Meg.6a (homiletic etymol. of טבריה) שיושבת בטִיבּוּרָהּ שלא״י it is situated on the height of Palestine.

Ki Thissa 2 (in parallels טיבור). Ib. מה הש׳ הזה … ומן הש׳ הוא אוכלוכ׳ as with regard to the umbilical cord, so long as the child is in its mothers womb, its mouth is closed, and it is fed from the umbilical cord, so Tanḥ. Thazr. 5 שוֹרְרוֹ יוצא עמווכ׳ its navel comes out with it (the infant) … and the mother has to cut it off.
