    ⇒ for a very short amount of time:
    - not (for) more than a minute.
         ♦ "...Ты на минуту встань на моё место. Представь, что тебе приносят пулю и говорят: вот доказательство, что ты убил человека" (Тендряков 1). "...Put yourself in my place for a moment. Imagine that someone brings you a bullet, and says: 'Here is the evidence that you have killed a man'" (1a).
         ♦ Другие гости заходили не часто, на минуту, как первые три гостя... (Гончаров 1). Other visitors came seldom and only for a short time, as the first three visitors had done... (1a).
         ♦ "Ктой-то [ungrammat = кто это]?" - спросила Аксинья, натягивая на себя одеяло. "Это я". - "Я сейчас оденусь". - "Ничего. Я на минутку" (Шолохов 2). "Who's there?" Aksinya asked, pulling up the bedclothes. "It's me." "I'll get dressed " "Never mind that. I won't be more than a minute" (2a).
