Auch zum Schutz zur Seite stehen, beistehen. Von Ereignissen und Schicksalen: nahe sein, bevorstehen; ἀλλά τοι ἤδη ἄγχι παρέστηκεν ϑάνατος, schon steht dir der Tod nahe bevor. Τὰ παρεστῶτα, die gegenwärtigen Dinge, Umstände; hinzutreten, τινί, zu einem, sowohl um ihm beizustehen, als im feindlichen Sinne, um ihn anzugreifen; auch: einen antreten, um zu betteln; δεῠρο, herzukommen; auf jemandes Seite treten, zu seiner Meinung übergehen. Dah. absolut, sich unterwerfen, sich ergeben; παραστῆναι τῷ πολέμῳ, dem Kriege unterliegen. Von geistigen Eindrücken, Vorstellungen, Ansichten: machen, daß sie vor dem Geiste stehen, darlegen, zeigen, beweisen. Auch erregen, veranlassen, von Leidenschaften: machen, daß sie bei einem vorhanden sind. Imperson. παρίσταταί μοι, es kommt mir bei, fällt mir ein; παρεστηκός, da es ihnen einfiel.
