Lat. LW [loanword] cyathus (Plaut.). - Szemerényi, Gnomon 43 (1971) compares Ugar. qb`t, Hebr. qubba`at `cup'. Clearly a Pre-Greek word (cf. DELG); Fur. 237 compares κόβαθος `a vessel', and κύβεθρον `beehive'(?).
