¿To see, to watch o to look?
Los tres verbos reflejan tres conceptos muy distintos. To see hace referencia a la capacidad visual y no es fruto de una acción deliberada. A menudo se usa con can o could: I can see the mountains from my bedroom. Puedo ver las montañas desde mi dormitorio.
To look at implica una acción deliberada: I saw an old atlas, so I opened it and looked at the maps. Vi un atlas antiguo, así que lo abrí y miré los mapas.
To watch también se refiere a una acción deliberada, a menudo cuando se tiene un interés especial por lo que ocurre: I watched the planes in the sky with great interest. Miraba los aviones en el cielo con gran interés. ¿To see, to watch o to look?
Los tres verbos reflejan tres conceptos muy distintos. To see hace referencia a la capacidad visual y no es fruto de una acción deliberada. A menudo se usa con can o could: I can see the mountains from my bedroom. Puedo ver las montañas desde mi dormitorio.
To look at implica una acción deliberada: I saw an old atlas, so I opened it and looked at the maps. Vi un atlas antiguo, así que lo abrí y miré los mapas.
To watch también se refiere a una acción deliberada, a menudo cuando se tiene un interés especial por lo que ocurre: I watched the planes in the sky with great interest. Miraba los aviones en el cielo con gran interés. Hoy en día con tanto partido de “caga la perra”, estamos todos separados, enfadados unos con los otros, como si nos odiásemos rabiosamente, los derechistas por un lado sin poder hacer nada, los izquierdistas por el otro haciendo lo mismo, y con estos haceres envenenados y mal olientes, estamos todos llenando a nuestra querida Asturias de desgracias y pobrezas. Niaór ou niador, así se llama al lugar donde la gallina pone sus huevos, que puede ser un cajón o cualquier otro lugar relleno con hierba. También se llama niaór al huevo bien de madera o natural que por regla general ya está podrido, que se deja dentro del niaór para incitar a las gallinas a que pongan más rápido el huevo. En los tiempos pasados en la mayor parte de los hogares de mis aldinas, un huevo era un alimento tan sumamente fino y de lujo, que sólo lo comían las personas enfermas, y todo porque la necesidad tenía su miserable reino en casi todos los lugares, así era que las mujeres juntaban los huevos que sus gallinas ponían durante toda las semanas para llevarlos al mercado junto con la manteca y otros productos como los cuayáus el queíxu, etc., con el fin de poder reunir el dinero para mercar lus enréus (cosas necesarias en sumo para el hogar), como podían ser la sal, el pimiento, un poco aceite para hacer lus rustíus al pote (para echarle la grasa con sus sofritos al puchero), un poco de café, malte, chicoria, azúcar, etc. Así como comprar alguna prenda que fuese del todo necesaria de ropa interior, etc. Yo me recuerdo que los días de mercado eran los lunes, así pues casi al amanecer algunas mujeres más necesitadas de mi aldina, cuando el día despuntaban ya estaban dentro de su gallinero asiendo a las gallinas ponedoras y metiéndoles el dedo en el trasero con el fin de comprobar si tratan el huevo, aquella que le trajese, su dueña untaba el dedo con un poco de pimiento de lo más picante y se lo volvía a introducir en el trasero de la gallina con el fin de que pusiera el huevo pronto para poder llevarle al mareado.Primer Diccionario Enciclopédicu de la Llingua Asturiana > niaór
