Mamoulian fue, tambien, el que dirigio la mejor pelicula interpretada por la divina Greta Garbo, La reina Cristina de Suecia (Queen Christina, 1933), un precursor del color en el cine con La feria de la vanidad (Becky Sharp, 1935), y, en fin, el realizador de tres westerns extraordinarios, a prueba de tiempos y modas.
