Abeyas, abéas ou abiétchas, son abejas. Y son las abejas sin lugar a dudas, los únicos seres de toda la Creación, que sólo se alimentan con el néctar de las flores, fecundándolas a la vez con más profundidad y eficiencia que pueda hacer ningún otro insecto. Me recuerdo con allegre (alegre) nostalgia, que en mi aldea había muchos truebanales (colmenas) y en la última semana del mes de setiembre o la primera de octubre, era cuando se mataban los truébanus (colmenas) que más miel tuviesen en sous caxiétchus (sus panales), y esto se sabía sopesándolos, aquéllos que más pesasen se les condenaba a morrer (morir). La matanza de las abéas se hacía siempre denuétche (de noche).
