передача, предание, традиция. Писание и Предание - два основания христианского учения. Можно выделить три отношения к традиции. 1) Амвросий Медиоланский под традицией понимал «мирскую» (языческую) философию, уклад светской жизни, что он называл культурой (см. CULTURA) и что не требовало стремления к преображению «ветхого» человека в «нового». Последнее было возможно только при условии вынесения цели существования за пределы земного мира. 2) Аврелий Августин понимал под «традицией» «новизну», определяемую как «никогда не прекращающееся вечное блаженство» (Августин. О Граде Божием. Т. 2.
