6 -weather, wether o whether?-
Nota d'usoIl sostantivo weather si riferisce alle condizioni atmosferiche, meteorologiche: What's the weather like?, com'è il tempo?; to listen to the weather forecast, ascoltare le previsioni del tempo. Non confondere weather con whether, che si pronuncia allo stesso modo; whether è una congiunzione che si usa per introdurre un'alternativa o una domanda indiretta: I don't know whether it is right or not, non so se è giusto o no; They asked whether they might stay longer, hanno chiesto se potevano rimanere più a lungo. Si pronuncia allo stesso modo anche il sostantivo wether, che significa “montone castrato”. -
7 -time o weather?-
Nota d'usoNon bisogna utilizzare il sostantivo time per parlare del tempo meteorologico, che in inglese è weather: Il tempo è bello oggi, the weather is good today (non the time is good today). -
8 all (the) year round
