Nota d'usoQuando si parla della casa in cui si risiede si usa la parola home, che, nel caso di un moto a luogo, viene utilizzata senza alcuna preposizione: I went home, andai a casa (non I went to home). Nel caso di uno stato in luogo, home può essere preceduto dalla preposizione at, anche se non è indispensabile: She stayed (at) home for two days, è rimasta a casa per due giorni. House, invece, si riferisce alla casa come edificio: They bought a big house, hanno comprato una casa grande; That is a Victorian house, quella è una casa vittoriana. Quando si invita qualcuno in casa o si va a casa di altri, si utilizza spesso place: Let's go to my place for a drink, andiamo a casa mia a bere qualcosa; I'm going to Tim's place, vado a casa di Tim. -
