120 Cotton Fibre
During the time of its growth the cotton fibre remains cylindrical with a central canal running about two-thirds of its total length, the almost solid tip end tapering to a point. The ripe cotton fibre of commerce appears like a collapsed tube, more or less flat or ribbon-like, and characterised by convolutions or twists. These vary in number and may occur as right or left-handed twists: sometimes both in the same fibre.
