A priest (Brahman) wears this cloth after bathing during the time he performs his ceremonial worship to his gods and says his Sandhia or sacred prayer. -

First made by machinery in 1768 at Nottingham. In 1834 the first machine-made figured tulles (point d'esprit) were produced. Also called Malines lace.
