Sifra Mtsorʿa, Neg., Par. 1 (ref. to שני, Lev. 14:4) ־כול פ׳ת״ל תולעת from שני you might infer that you may use the dye from fucus, therefore tolaʿath is added (to indicate that it must be won from a worm, the snail); Yalk. Lev. 559 פִּיקִים. 2) the dried up blossoms of gourds. B. Mets.88b (expl. משיפקסו, Maasr. I, 5) משינטל פ׳ שלהן (Rashi to Bets.13b פֶּקֶס) as soon as their blossoms are removed. 3) lump. Bekh.45a Var.
