1 resent
•• resent, resentment
•• Resent to feel or exhibit indignant displeasure at (Webster’s Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary).
Oxford American Dictionary: resent – to feel displeased and indignant about, to feel insulted (by something said or done). Не слишком поможет и Webster’s Third New International (правда, в нем вы найдете и устаревшее значение to receive with appreciation, но оно встречается крайне редко). The newcomers... were in most cases resented (Barbara Tuchman)? Antony found some difficulty in maintaining these conversations, and rather resented it after the easy friendliness of the line (R. Aldington). Resenting invasion of its control of foreign policy, the Senate refused to ratify [the treaty] (Barbara Tuchman).
