  • 87 chip on one's shoulder

To have a chip on one's shoulder — это значит держаться вызывающе, быть задирой, забиякой, искать повода для ссоры или драки.

When you talk to him don't mention his last job. He was sacked after a big row. He hasn't recovered from the shock and seems to have a chip on his shoulder about it.
