    פִּקָּדוֹן, פִּיקָּ׳m. (b. h.; preced.) thing given in charge, deposit. Gen. R. s. 93, beg. לית שמיה פקדון אלא פּוּק פּוֹן (some ed. פוקדון in one word) it ought not to he called piḳḳadon, but puḳ don (go out of this, avoid it; דון for דין). Shebu.V, 1 שבועת הפ׳ the oath concerning a deposit. Ib. 2 תן לי פִּקְדּוֹנִי give me my deposit back. Ib. V, 7 מי שהפ׳ אצלו the trustee. Num. R. s. 9 (ref. to Num. 5:12 ומעלה בו מעל, a. Lev. 5:21) לפי שהיא כופרת בפ׳ because she betrays a trust; מה ממון הקל כל הכופר בפ׳ … בפִקְרּוֹן גוףוכ׳ if in money matters which are of slighter import, he who denies a deposit is considered like denying the Lord, how much more so is one who denies the deposit of a body (purity of the family)! Tanḥ. Shofṭim 12 פ׳ אחד … תן לו פִּקְדּוֹנוֹוכ׳ one deposit has he (the Lord) with thee, give it back to him and make thyself a god; ומה פקרונווכ׳ and what is his deposit?
