sū́tra-dhāra

a stage-manager ( orﾠ principal actor who superintends the whole performance;
accord. toﾠ some he was originally so called from holding the strings of puppets;
his assistants are the pāripārṡvika andﾠ sthāpaka, qq.vv.) Bhar. Sāh. etc.. ;
