Инструмент, право собственности на который может быть передано другому лицу путем вписания его имени или путем индоссамента; когда текущий его владелец подписывает документ своим именем, нет необходимости в каких-либо дополнительных передаточных надписях и лицо, в пользу которого индоссируется инструмент, в полном объеме приобретает права собственности своих предшественников. Примерами подобного рода оборотных инструментов являются переводные векселя, чеки и простые векселя.
