Num. 743 (read in place of כדו בלוםוכ׳:) פיו בָּלוּם לעמו של משה יכול הוא לִבְלֹום צפורנו של אחד מהם the mouth of the people of Moses is tied up (we dare not talk), but can he tie up (disable) the nail of any of them (the Canaanites)? Ḥull.89a (play on בלימה, Job 26:7) שבּוֹלֵםוכ׳ who restrains himself in strife (refrains from violence, keeps silence). 2) part. pass. בָּלוּם (cmp. אִלֵּם) unfit for use, lame, sore, swollen, closed by a tumor.
