n AmCultural note: JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF Si chiama Joint Chiefs of Staff l'organismo al vertice del ministero della difesa americano che ha il compito di coadiuvare in materia militare il presidente, il consiglio nazionale di sicurezza e il ministro della Difesa. L'organismo, fondato nel 1942, è composto da un presidente e da un vicepresidente, dai capi di stato maggiore della Difesa (aviazione, marina ed esercito) e dal comandante del corpo dei Marines. -
