Например, считается оскорбительным предполагать, что Бог — мужчина, и говорить о «его» милости, любви и т. п. Хотя в англоязычных странах во многих церквах inclusive language стараются употреблять как можно чаще, прихожане не особенно одобряют такое новшество, особенно если нужно изменить слова их любимых гимнов, религиозных обрядов, литургии. В США в 1983 г. был издан 'An Inclusive Language Lectionary' молитвенник. -
