В данном случае слово call выступает в значении решение судьи (это также отсутствует в словарях). Judgment call – субъективное решение, возможно, сомнительное, но не оспариваемое комментатором, поскольку «судья всегда прав». В последнее время из спортивного обихода эта фраза проникла в общий лексикон. Вот пример из журнала Time: Nobody knows by exactly what mechanism particles might cause disease.
