Обещание, сделанное третьей стороной-гарантом (guarantor), которая не участвует в контракте двух других, но заявляет о своей ответственности в случае, если одна из сторон-участниц не выполнит предусмотренных контрактом обязательств. Например, банк может предоставить человеку заем, если есть гарант, готовый выплатить его в случае неуплаты займа заемщиком. Банкир может потребовать от гаранта предоставить в поддержку своих обязательств какое-то обеспечение (security). См. также: bank guarantee( банковская гарантия). -
