(U.K.) Gen Mgt, HRa hierarchical chain of command from executive to front-line level. Line management is the oldest and least complex management structure, in which top management have total and direct authority and employees report to only one supervisor. Managers in this type of organization structure have direct responsibility for giving orders to their subordinates.
