Finthe purchase of financial instruments such as bills of exchange or letters of credit on a nonrecourse basis by a forfaiter, who deducts interest (in the form of a discount) at an agreed rate for the period covered by the notes. The forfaiter assumes the responsibility for claiming the debt from the importer (buyer) who initially accepted the financial instrument drawn by the seller of the goods. Traditionally, forfaiting is fixedrate, medium-term (oneto five-year) finance. -

Форма учета задолженности (debt discounting), используемая экспортерами, когда лицо, финансирующее торговлю путем учета векселей без права регресса, акцептует со скидкой/ниже номинала и без права регресса долговое обязательство (promissory note), вексель (bill of exchange), аккредитив (letter of credit) и т.д., которые экспортер получил от своего зарубежного покупателя. Обычные сроки их погашения - от одного года до трех лет. В результате экспортер без какого-либо риска получает оплату за свои поставки, расплачиваясь за это скидкой.

Форфетирование. Переуступка прав
Форфетирование - это форма кредитования внешнеторговых операций, которая заключается в покупке у экспортера векселей, акцептованных импортером, т.е. переуступка прав в обмен на наличный платеж. Форфетор (филиал коммерческого банка или специализированная фирма) выкупает товары экспортера по дисконтированной цене, высвобождая таким образом клиенту наличные средства, которые он может использовать для финансирования своего оборотного капитала. Затем, при наступлении срока платежа форфетор взимает причитающиеся суммы с иностранного покупателя. Таким образом, он берет на себя коммерческие риски, связанные с неплатежеспособностью импортера, без оборота платежных документов на прежнего владельца.
